These mainly reduce hoof sensitivity but also stimulate blood flow for more efficient elimination of toxins.

Apply Cavalor PodoSens twice daily to the coronet and/or the sole of the hoof. Repeat until symptoms have disappeared.

Tip: Sensitive hooves caused by metabolic disorders require a “whole-horse” approach. Cavalor PodoSens is recommended in combination with Cavalor LaminAid, along with adjustments to feed. Cavalor LaminAid is a supplement that balances the body’s metabolic and hormonal processes in several ways and supports healthy gut flora.

Warning: For external use only.

More about this product

Cavalor PodoSens is a unique blend of essential oils that helps to provide quick relief to sensitive hooves and promotes hoof elasticity. It also supports optimum hoof growth. Cavalor PodoSens is a therapeutic hoof oil for use on horses with sensitive hooves and/or problem hooves.

Cavalor PodoSens also improves elasticity in the hoof wall, ensuring not only quick relief, but also supporting the hoof mechanism and improving the quality and growth of the hoof. Unlike other oils that must be used daily for hoof maintenance and to make hooves shine, Cavalor PodoSens is economical to use, as it is intended for application to the sole and/or coronet only.

DID YOU KNOW?

Hoof horn grows constantly – about a centimetre each month. We can therefore always adjust or support its development. A balanced diet provides all the nutrients a healthy hoof needs, but sometimes it’s necessary to adjust feed and provide extra care.

Although hooves look firm and lifeless on the outside due to their hard horn layer, don’t forget that underneath lies the sensitive corium, which contains many sensitive nerve endings and blood vessels. A horse with problem hooves will have irregular gaits, avoid hard surfaces and, in severe cases, even lie down noticeably more to take the pressure off of its hooves.

Sensitive hooves are often caused by inflammation responses after overloading or from being ridden on uncomfortable terrain. However, older horses often naturally have sensitive hooves or thinner soles, making them more prone to pain.

Your horse may also appear to be walking on eggshells if the farrier has trimmed his hooves just a bit too short. Another frequent cause for sensitive hooves is laminitis. This disease is often the result of a metabolic disorder, where toxins are produced that cause inflammation of the laminae that connect the hoof wall with the corium. It is extremely painful and requires a “whole-horse” approach.

Wonderful product

I have been using this now for about 6 months. My farrier can attest to how well this product hardens hoof soles as he had difficulties cutting pieces off Mossie’s soles with his best knife! Definitely one of the best products I have ever come across. Mossie is still progressing after his close call with the rainbow bridge and laminitis (cushings/ems). Photo from him having grown an entirely new hoof.

Excellent!

Helped our treasured little Shetland overcome a nasty bout of lami. Will definitely be including in her daily feed going forward
